In these species the presentation of mammary tumors is also frequent, whose surgical wounds are usually long and there is a lot of bleeding, difficult to control. On the other hand, ornamental birds need good food for their health and sometimes it is difficult to obtain food supplements that benefit them. In search of therapeutic options that are effective, economical and harmonious with the environment, the use of two products developed by the Research Center for the Mining and Metallurgical Industry (CIPIMM), DEOSEC-F, has properties such as antifungal, antibacterial secant and hemostatic and ZEONUT which is a nutritional supplement. On these bases, a study was conducted in which their effectiveness was evaluated in the treatment of these diseases and in the nutrition of these species. For this, three studies were carried out. In the first, 30 dogs and 6 cats that suffered from skin and ear diseases were used. Half the conventional treatment was applied and the other DEOSEC-F. In the second, 60 dogs operated on breast tumors with long and bleeding superficial surgical wounds were worked on. Halfway DEOSEC-F was applied until the hemostasis was observed and halfway there was not. In the third they were administered to 30 ornamental birds (personatas and lovebirds), of 60, the ZEONUT product. The results showed that the application of these products was effective in all the animals studied according to their property and it was recommended that the studies be expanded in a larger sample and in other animal species. Las enfermedades dérmicas y óticas de los caninos y felinos domésticos son frecuentes y muy difíciles de tratar. En estas especies también es frecuente la presentación de tumores mamarios, cuyas heridas quirúrgicas por lo general son largas y se produce mucho sangramiento, difícil de controlar. Por otra parte, las aves ornamentales necesitan de buena alimentación para su salud y en ocasiones es complicado obtener suplementos alimentarios que los beneficien. En busca de opciones terapéuticas que sean efectivas, económicas y armónicas con el medio ambiente, surgió el empleo de dos productos desarrollados por el Centro de Investigaciones para la Industria Minero-metalúrgico (CIPIMM), DEOSEC-F, que tiene propiedades como antimicótico, antibacteriano secante y hemostático y ZEONUT que es un suplemento alimenticio. Sobre estas bases se realizó un estudio en el que se evaluó la efectividad de los mismos en el tratamiento de estas enfermedades y en la nutrición en estas especies. Para ello se llevaron a cabo tres estudios. En el primero se utilizaron 30 perros y 6 gatos que padecían de enfermedades de la piel y óticas. A la mitad se le aplicaba el tratamiento convencional y a los demás DEOSEC-F. En el segundo se trabajaron 60 perras operadas de tumores mamarios con heridas quirúrgicas superficiales largas y sangrantes. A la mitad se le aplicó DEOSEC-F hasta observar la hemostasia y a la mitad no. En el tercero se les administró a 30 aves ornamentales (personatas y agapornis), de 60, el producto ZEONUT. Los resultados arrojaron que la aplicación de dichos productos fue efectiva en todos los animales estudiados de acuerdo con su propiedad y se recomendó que se amplíen los estudios en una muestra mayor y en otras especies animales.
