Preliminary assessment of the use of Cuban jadeites for the national economy Valoración preliminar del aprovechamiento de las jadeítas cubanas para la economía nacional Ochoa Hernández, Edith Parra Muñoz, Eduardo Montejo Serrano, Emilio manifestations of minerals favorable prospects manifestaciones de minerales perspectivas favorables In Cuba, there are manifestations of jadeite and nephrite minerals in the central and eastern region of the country. These minerals are scarce worldwide and according to their characteristics can present a high value that increases when they are used in the manufacture of jewelry and works of art (sculptures etc.). These prospects are valued in a preliminary way and the importance that their exploitation would have for the national economy, proposing the actions to be carried out from the geological point of view, to verify the quality and magnitude of these resources. The results indicate the favorable prospects of their assimilation, given the high prices and resources estimated for the benefit of the economy of the Geominsal Business Group and the country in general. En Cuba existen manifestaciones de minerales de jadeítas y nefritas en la región central y oriental del país. Estos minerales son escasos a nivel mundial y según sus características pueden presentar un alto valor que se incrementa al emplearse los mismos en la elaboración de joyas y obras de artes (esculturas, etc.). Se valoran de forma preliminar estos prospectos y la importancia que tendría su explotación para la economía nacional, proponiéndose las acciones a realizar desde el punto de vista geológico, para comprobar la calidad y magnitud de estos recursos. Los resultados indican las perspectivas favorables de su asimilación, dado los altos precios y recursos estimados para el beneficio de la economía del Grupo Empresarial Geominsal y del país en general.
