Reason that they take to an appropriate use of the natural resources keeping in mind the double function or work of this materials: constructive function, economic function. In general the investigation is based in the analysis and evaluation of the readiness and the potential of the quarry stone and of ornamental lining in the county Artemisa, ending in a valuation of the real possibilities of these elements like construction materials and in an intent to give utility to a patrimony with record of exploitation in this territory, what represents the purpose of the present work. It was indispensable a correct and meticulous cheek the digital and printed information, as well as of data managed by the ONRM, steps that gave place to the execution of the foreseen results. The work constitutes a benefit to the geologic knowledge and the bring up to date from the mining information when checking the good potentiality of the resources of quarry stone in this county, contrary to the readiness, practically null, in spite of to be verified that the county has mineral resource with quality proven in 4 locations for the case of the ornamentals in block. A raíz de la nueva política de desarrollo socio-económico en que está inmerso el Estado cubano surge este trabajo, que focaliza los intereses locales y tiene como máximo objetivo el desarrollo endógeno de la comunidad. Razones que llevan a un aprovechamiento adecuado de los recursos naturales teniendo en cuenta la doble función o trabajo de dichos materiales: función constructiva, función económica. En general la investigación se fundamenta en el análisis y evaluación de la disponibilidad y el potencial de la piedra de cantería y de revestimiento decorativo en la provincia Artemisa, desembocando en una valoración de las posibilidades reales de estos elementos como materiales de construcción y en un intento por dar utilidad a un patrimonio con historial de explotación en dicho territorio, lo que representa el propósito del presente trabajo. Fue imprescindible una correcta y minuciosa revisión de toda la información digital e impresa, así como de datos manejados por la ONRM, pasos que dieron lugar al cumplimiento de los resultados previstos. El trabajo constituye un beneficio al conocimiento geológico y la actualización de la información minera al comprobar la buena potencialidad de los recursos de piedra de cantería en esta provincia; contrario a la disponibilidad, prácticamente nula, a pesar de verificarse que la provincia cuenta con recursos minerales con calidad probada en 4 yacimientos para el caso de los decorativos en bloque.
