Abstract

In Cuba, there are manifestations of jadeite and nephrite minerals in the central and eastern region of the country. These minerals are scarce worldwide and according to their characteristics can present a high value that increases when they are used in the manufacture of jewelry and works of art (sculptures etc.). These prospects are valued in a preliminary way and the importance that their exploitation would have for the national economy, proposing the actions to be carried out from the geological point of view, to verify the quality and magnitude of these resources. The results indicate the favorable prospects of their assimilation, given the high prices and resources estimated for the benefit of the economy of the Geominsal Business Group and the country in general.
