Abstract

A patentometric study was carried out to know the technological trend regarding the processing of minerals such as calcite, in obtaining precipitated calcium carbonate, several patent sites of different Patent Databases were searched, such as: WIPO, PatenStcope and the Cuban Office of Industrial Property (OCPI). The results showed that the highest number of publications (112) was obtained in PATENTSCOPE, on the subject "Obtaining precipitated calcium carbonate", for the period 2006-2019. The themes, countries and holders that these patents address are reflected in the development of the work. The OMYA AG company, one of the most prominent in terms of patenting, has filed patents in Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and other countries through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). OMYA is also the largest producer of calcium carbonate.
