Sector 50 from Union Juan Manuel District: Arguments for your prospecting

Abstract
The R&D project 613750 of the Institute of Geology and Paleontology (IGP) - Cuba Geological Survey called "Metallogenic Study of the Unión - Juan Manuel - Mineral District " had the objective of responding to the problem generated by the insufficiency of existing studies, for the adequate characterization of the chemical and mineralogical composition of the Cu - Co ores of the Mineral District, for a better understanding of its genesis, and to delve into the existing possibilities for expanding the base of mineral resources within it and in the rest of the Mantua municipality. Throughout the study region, a total of 53 sectors were identified and delimited, based on the general favorability map. According to its characteristics, and in order of priority, sector 50 has been recommended for prospecting work. Its tectonic-stratigraphic environment, the evidence of geochemical anomalies of Cu, Pb and Zn, also supported by the development of IP anomalies that cover a large part of the area, infer that this sector has a great prospective potential for the increase of identified resources of ores of Cu - Co ± Zn, Au, Ag and other accompanying elements.
