Abstract

The raw pulps of some niquelíferous deposit, with lateritic complex, due to the clayey nature of his minerals, present unfavourable rheological characteristics. For the traditional methods of preparation of raw pulp they catch up from 20 to 25 % of solids and in the later thickening, only they catch up from 34 to 35 % of solids, with very bad rheological characteristics (Bingham Yield Stress>200 Pa), that makes the pulps of very difficult moving. These minerals which obtain the acid leaching process at pressure (HTPL), decrease considerably the productivity of the autoclaves and the production of the plants in general, that they use the Acid lixiviation under pressure (HPAL) that provokes a serious cost-reducing affectation of manner. In this work it is studied in a preliminary form the behaviour of these minerals when processing them by means of Pulp Direct Preparation Technology of high solid % by means of additives (inorganic salts and acid), developed for the CIPIMM (CIPIMM 2A). With this procedure it is been able to lift the percent of solids of the pulps in addition to 44 % with values of Bingham Yield Stress 100 Pa that makes its moving easy.
