Abstract

This work has as main objective validation of a technique for the analysis of nickeliferous mineral and products of their processing, using lithium metaborate fusion for digestion of the samples and a final determination of the elements Ni, Mg, Fe and Co by atomic absorption spectrometry. The parameters evaluated in this validation were: detection limit and precision expressed as repeatability, reproducibility and uncertainty. To this, were analyzed in triplicate, for ten days, a typical sample and seven fortified blank tests. In order to assess the presence of significant systematic errors was conducted to determine the elements Ni, Mg, Fe and Co in ten separate weigh of a lateritic ore L-1 Certified Reference Sample, finally obtaining satisfactory results being shown to bias obtained by the method used is acceptable, and therefore its accuracy.
