Abstract

This research is directed to know the behavior of Potentially Toxic Elements (PTEs) like Cu, Pb, Zn in waters, sediments and the degree of contamination caused by the operation of the Jucaro deposit. The fieldwork was made by taking samples of sediments and waters accompanied by pH measurements. For chemical analysis of waters was used Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy detecting Cu, Pb, and Zn in permissible concentrations for maximum pollution limits according to the Cuban norm NC 27: 2012. The same technical was used for obtained small concentrations of CuO and ZnO. By the method of powder difractometric of X- rays were found scorodite and jarosite to retain naturally the migration of lead and arsenic. The PTEs analyzed do not exceed the limits of permissible concentration in water or sediment and was valued positive results for the investigation.
