Abstract

Studies the uses of palygorskite's fine residual fraction of the deposit Pontezuela, generated in the productive process of the filter bed for the fuel of aviation JET A1, for his uses like pets's bed, in formulations with zeolite and bentonite. Characteristics like great capability of absorption of liquids and removal of undesirable smells must possess pets's beds. Applying an experimental design of mixtures diverse paligorskite's proportions among (50 -70)%, bentonite used among (10- 30)% and zeolite 20%. Nine mixings that the absorption of water Westinghouse, pH, apparent density and performance in weight of the useful fraction were evaluated. The optimal formulation determined itself of statistical analysis than is supposed to 50 %'s composition palygorskite, 30% bentonite and 20% zeolite. A comparison among the optimal mixture that additionally one accomplished tests of agglutination of the mineral and removal of smells in and a commercial foreign product were established. In the comparative study the product obtained he evidenced a superior behavior in relation to the bed foreign pattern. The tests of use with pets yielded worked out plus signs, he deemed good acceptance as part of the same ones and he remained absorbing liquids and reviving the smells for over fifteen days. Starting from the aftermath obtained, it is been able to decrease the impact on the environment of generation and accumulation of the solid fine leavings with his use, in the obtaining of new products.
