Abstract

Based on the characteristics of the geologist-geophysical pattern for the potassium bearing tuff created in the western part of Cuba, and in the agronomic tests made to value them as potassium source in natural fertilizers, it was proceeded to evaluate this raw material in the Central Part of Cretaceous Volcanic Island Arch, determining that a high potential exists for the same one in occupied areas by the Hilario, Cabaiguán, Pelao, Seibabo formations, as well as in the Carolina Member belong to the Cantabria formation. In all this geological units, the aero-ganma-espectrometric anomalies oscillate between 0, 5% and 1, 5% and the radiometric among 3.7 and 7.2 Mr / h. The K2O contents are bigger than 1.40% arriving to 4.24 %. In addition, it is reiterated the presence of significantly mineralized waters, the hilly lands and marked tectonics incidence. The presence of all these parameter allowed extrapolating the western geologist-geophysical model, toward the current study region and getting the most perspective areas.
